Professor Dato' Dr. Rosli Mohd Yunus recently appointed as Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Innovation, is no stranger to research community. Young and enthusiastic, he hopes to alleviate UMP research to a greater height. Although UMP is a  relatively new university, “l hope to concentrate on commercialization of research products and to bring the university closer to  industry and community” said Professor Dato' Dr. Rosli Mohd Yunus .He said that it is high time for UMP to emphasize more on commercialization so that Malaysia, especially the industry and community nearby UMP will benefit from the commercialization of the products. At the same time this will make the presence of UMP noticeable. Professor Dato' Dr. Rosli Mohd Yunus received his Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University, USA and further his Masters degree at University of Wales Swansea, UK. This further led to him receiving the J.F. Richardson Prize, being the best Master student of Chemical Engineering University of Wales Swansea.

He was awarded the young lecturer scheme scholarship by UTM for his doctoral study which led to the award of Ph.D by University of Wales Swansea, UK in 1996. Professor Dato' Dr. Rosli Mohd Yunus further moves in his career to specialize in the area of membrane separation processes, ultrasonic assisted processes, microwave assisted processes and waste to wealth. He has published widely both locally and internationally. His cv also saw large volume of consultancies, research and technical reports. Among his achievements saw his research outcome patented and in the pipeline 4 products has high potential to be commercialized. He is UMP’s sole recipient of 2 technofunds amounting RM9.4 million for pre-commercialization of waste to wealth related projects. Professor Dato' Dr. Rosli Mohd Yunus was the Dean of Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering prior to his appointment as the Deputy of Vice Cancellor (Research and Innovation) UMP.
